61085 Km | PRICETAG 2019: € 998.500,- The 300SL Roadster and the 300SL Gullwing must be amongst the most iconic Mercedes ever made. This 4-owner car was supplied from new in 1961. In that year, starting at number 2780, the 300SL enjoyed an upgrade to Dunlop disc brakes on all four wheels. Our car was one of the first of 478 in total to have this significant upgrade. It also sports ‘Rudge’ rims and electronic power steering costing over £13,000 at the time! The original rims, steering wheel and steering rack have been retained. The beautiful bodywork has wonderfully straight panel work. The interior trim is lovely and has been well maintained. The engine has benefited from an overhaul in the past. Maintenance and service records are present as are so-called ‘Datenkarte’ confirming every car part number. This car has it own matching numbers original engine. This is truly a thing of beauty to behold and drive!

Growing up, Raul Marchisio wanted nothing more than to stop going to school so he could start working, and he wanted to start working so he could go go-karting. Many young boys interested in fast cars entertain similar thoughts at some point, but Raul was more persistent than most, and after he began racing karts without his parents’ let’s call it, explicit blessing, he found that he was actually quite good at it. He made the transition into larger fare soon enough, but rather than larger single-seaters or even touring cars, Raul took up a career as a rally driver until an accident precluded him from taking it any further. On a friend’s suggestion he decided to pivot and try to make a living selling cars and motorsport gear in Monaco. Though his dreams of becoming a professional racer were cut short, he’s still able to live out another one from his childhood every time he takes out his Countach.
