ALFA ROMEO MONTREAL 2.6 Ltr V8 1975 | Argento Metallizzato

This Alfa Romeo Montreal was supplied in 1975 to France. After nearly 20 years the car moved from the south of France to the Netherlands in 1993. This Montreal was restored in the past, and thanks to excellent care and attention it continues to be in very good condition. The bodywork is rust-free with correctly aligned body panels and wonderful paintwork. The mechanics were not overlooked with the totally rebuilt engine. With its 1,270 Kg curb weight it should come as no surprise that the V8 still delivers enough power to get up the road in a hurry. The Montreal’s good steering and gear change are free from excessive play. The gearbox, differential and the rest of the mechanics have always received the care and attention they deserved. The latter is emphasised by a thick wad of invoices and descriptions of recent works, in addition to documentation relating to the Alfa's early life in the south of France. Although a 50 year-old design this “Argento Metallizzato” Montreal still looks futuristic to this day. The combination with the black leather interior trim only adds to its beauty. The Alfa Romeo Montreal in general: A delicious ultimate “Gran Turismo”. The first impression of this Marcello Gandini penned Italian coupe is impressive as well as beautiful in equal measures. Superficial beauty is however not enough, a fact readily recognised by Alfa. Where the concept Montreal car had a small 4-cylinder, the production car was given a mighty V8 engine. This 2.6 litre V8 was derived from the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and 33 Sports Prototipo Racer V8 engines. The cylinders banks stand at right angles to each other and the engine has dry-sump lubrication which allowed the engine to built in lower and therefore lowering the centre of gravity. The Alfa Romeo Montreal has a limited slip-differential 5-speed ZF transmission box. A dry-sump 2.6 litre 90 degrees Alfa Romeo V8 poured into Bertone bodywork as penned by Gandini, what else is there to wish for?

Jaguar E-Type: Gwendoline

Kenny Lombino grew up loving cars, and owes his early interest to his father, an enthusiast in his own right. Growing up outside of New York, Kenny remembers visiting the NY Auto Show with his father each year, but 1961 proved to be a particularly special edition as it marked the first time Kenny saw a Jaguar E-Type. As an eight-year-old, he vowed to grow up and own one, and as you can see in today’s film, he kept his promise. Following a trip across Europe that culminated in watching E-Types duking it out on the track at the Silverstone Classic, Kenny decided to have his E-Type coupe modified comprehensively, from weight reduction to powertrain to suspension and brakes. The result is an E-Type that’s perfect for spirited drives in the mountains—a car that lives up to a lifetime of ongoing hype.
