MYTH? MERCEDES E60 AMG W124

1994 Mercedes Benz E60 AMG. That's right! A PRE-merger Mercedes/AMG car. A REAL 957 coded option (AMG Engineering Package). Some cars were taken brand new to AMG by the private owner, but only a handful were designated by Mercedes-Benz. 957 code means Mercedes pick this car to be converted to an AMG. This car is not for sale. It was offered by a good friend/client to review. We are thankful for the opportunity to experience a real E60 for the 1st time. Approximately 130 cars were ever produced for the wold, but only about 30% were actual 957 coded, making this car ultra rare! This particualr car was part of a retirement package for a Mercedes-Benz executive. If you enjoyed this video, please like, share and subscribe! We look forward to bringing you more reviews on exclusive cars.

Homologation Specials: 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II

In the 1980s and ’90s, Mercedes-Benz produced nearly two million units of the 190 compact sedan, but these were not created equally. The variants of the entry-level Merc ranged from  beige Moroccan taxi cabs with workhorse diesels under the hood and fewer amenities than a room at the YMCA, to the homologation specials with Cosworth-and-AMG-developed engines wearing aero kits shaped by wind tunnels and phDs. The ultimate road-going iteration, the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II featured in today’s film driven by none other than Alain de Cadenet, was born to support Mercedes’s battle with BMW and Audi in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM), homologating the competition version that went on to win the manufacturers’ championship in 1991 and 1992, besting its rivals during one of the headiest periods of touring car motorsport. But even without the achievements of its racing relative, the street legal version was fated for infamy. The almost egregiously tall rear wing and the rest of the bodywork augmentations are emblematic of the era it was born into, and although its styling has been polarizing car enthusiasts for three decades and counting, there is no denying that this car has presence. It’s a lot to look at, but what’s it like to drive? Is there a better way to answer that question than to put one in the talented hands of Alain de Cadenet on a winding mountain road in Spain? Not likely. More films, articles, and photos: https://www.petrolicious.com

Αποτέλεσμα εικόνας για MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SL ROADSTER - Rudge rims

61085 Km | PRICETAG 2019: € 998.500,- The 300SL Roadster and the 300SL Gullwing must be amongst the most iconic Mercedes ever made. This 4-owner car was supplied from new in 1961. In that year, starting at number 2780, the 300SL enjoyed an upgrade to Dunlop disc brakes on all four wheels. Our car was one of the first of 478 in total to have this significant upgrade. It also sports ‘Rudge’ rims and electronic power steering costing over £13,000 at the time! The original rims, steering wheel and steering rack have been retained. The beautiful bodywork has wonderfully straight panel work. The interior trim is lovely and has been well maintained. The engine has benefited from an overhaul in the past. Maintenance and service records are present as are so-called ‘Datenkarte’ confirming every car part number. This car has it own matching numbers original engine. This is truly a thing of beauty to behold and drive!

MERCEDES-BENZ 280 SE Coupé | SCC TV

The Mercedes-Benz W111 (produced 1959–1971) helped Daimler develop greater sales and achieve economy of scale production. Whereas in the 1950s, Mercedes-Benz was producing hand-assembled 300s and 300SLs along with conveyor assembled Pontons (190, 190SL and 220) etc., the fintail (German: Heckflosse) family united the entire Mercedes-Benz range of vehicles onto one automobile platform, reducing production time and costs. However, the design fashion of the early 1960s changed. For example, the tail fins, originally intended to improve aerodynamic stability, died out within a few years as a fashion accessory. By the time the 2-door coupe and cabriolet W111s were launched, the fins lost their chrome trim and sharp appearance, the arrival of the W113 Pagoda in 1963 saw them further buried into the trunk's contour, and finally disappeared on the W100 600 in 1964.

The upgrade of the W111 began under the leadership of designer Paul Bracq in 1961 and ended in 1963. Although the fins' departure was the most visible change, the W108 compared to the W111 had a lower body waist line that increased the window area, (the windscreen was 17 percent larger than W111). The cars had a lower ride (a decrease by 60 mm) and wider doors (+15 mm). The result was a visibly new car with a more sleek appearance and an open and spacious interior.[2]

The suspension system featured a reinforced rear axle with hydro-pneumatic compensating spring. The car sat on larger wheels (14”) and had disc brakes on front and rear. The W109 was identical to the W108, but featured an extended wheelbase of 115 mm (4.5 in) and self-levelling air suspension. This was seen as a successor to the W112 300SEL that was originally intended as an interim car between the 300 Adenauer(W189) and the 600 (W100) limousines. However, its success as "premium flagship" convinced Daimler to add a LWB car to the model range. From that moment on, all future S-Class models would feature a LWB line.

Although the W108 succeeded the W111 as a premium range full-size car, it did not replace it. Production of the W111 continued, however the 230S was now downgraded to the mid-range series, the Mercedes-Benz W110, and marketed as a flagship of that family until their production ceased in 1968. The W108 is popular with collectors and the most desirable models to collect are the early floor shift models with the classic round gear knob and the 300 SEL's.
